Family and domestic violence (FDV) is conduct that is violent, threatening, coercive, controlling or intended to cause the family or household member to be fearful (Australian Family Law Act 1975 – Sect- 4AB). The violence can be physical, verbal, emotional, sexual or psychological abuse. Anyone can be affected by the FDV; the violence can impact all types of relationships in the families. In recent years, FDV has been an important issue and a widespread problem in Australian families and few cases have been seen in Nepalese Families too. There is a need of Family Violence Awareness Program within our community.
